How RightRobot keeps recommendations useful, explainable and independent.

The aim is not to publish the largest number of product pages. It is to make the evidence, trade-offs, commercial relationships and uncertainty clear enough for a real buying decision.

RightRobot EditorialPolicy reviewed 18 August 2026
1 · Recommendation independence

Commission and commercial relationships do not enter ranking.

Home Fit, comparison scores, evidence confidence and recommendation order are calculated from product evidence and the household requirements supplied by the user. Affiliate commission rate, retailer preference and advertiser spend are not ranking inputs.

2 · Evidence hierarchy

Claims are not all treated as the same kind of evidence.

  • Manufacturer specifications are useful for factual product capabilities but are not treated as independent performance proof.
  • Measured third-party testing is retained with its test context rather than blended with incompatible methods.
  • Observed real-world performance and long-term ownership can identify strengths or failure modes without being converted into invented precision.
  • Reviewer judgement stays qualitative unless the source actually reports a measured or scored result.
  • Conflicting or thin evidence is shown as uncertainty instead of being silently averaged away.
3 · AI use

AI interprets language; fixed product evidence decides the match.

RightRobot can use AI to translate a natural-language description of a home into structured requirements. The product catalogue, evidence rules, hard requirements and ranking logic are kept outside that language interpretation step.

4 · Prices and availability

Shopping information is date-sensitive and kept separate from product fit.

Where RightRobot displays a verified UK price, the route and check date are retained. Budget guides automatically exclude a shortlisted model when its current verified purchase route rises above the stated ceiling. The retailer checkout remains the final source for price, stock, delivery, warranty and returns.

5 · Product imagery

Exact product imagery is only shown from an approved public-display route.

RightRobot tracks image provenance and progressively replaces interim assets with approved manufacturer, press, partner-feed or licensed imagery. An image is withheld rather than copied from an unverified retailer, marketplace or third-party source. Decorative buying-guide artwork is labelled as illustrative and is not presented as a specific product photograph.

6 · Affiliate and promotional content

Monetised routes are disclosed before the click.

Affiliate links are labelled clearly (for example, #Ad · Affiliate link) and use sponsored-link markup. RightRobot does not publish a higher product score because one retailer pays more. Promotional codes or retailer creative should only be used when supplied or authorised through the relevant programme or partner route.

7 · Corrections and updates

Material factual errors are corrected rather than defended.

If a specification, current price, product identity, source attribution or explanation is wrong, email dan@rightrobot.uk with the model, page and point that needs checking. Evidence can be revisited when products receive software updates, sources are corrected, or availability changes.
