IFA 2025 / CES 2026 · RightRobot technology watchDreame Cyber X: a different answer to stair-climbing robot vacuums
Dreame is approaching the multi-floor problem from a completely different direction. Cyber X is a stair-climbing transport system: the cleaning robot docks onto a tracked carrier that moves it up or down the staircase, rather than asking the normal vacuum chassis to become a stair robot itself.
Why this is interesting
- A separate carrier could let the vacuum remain optimised for normal floor cleaning while specialised hardware handles the stairs.
- Dreame lists independent 3D ToF vision and a carry-on water tank, suggesting the system is intended to preserve multi-floor mopping as well as transport.
- Dreame regional launch pages currently label Cyber X as coming soon, moving it beyond a one-off show-floor idea.
What the manufacturer has actually confirmed
- Dreame showcased Cyber X at CES 2026 with an adaptive stair-climbing system and 3D ToF vision.
- The manufacturer describes smooth cleaning across multiple floors and a carry-on water tank for continuous mopping.
- European Dreame pages label Cyber X as coming soon, but RightRobot is not treating it as a current UK buy-now product.
What we still don't know
RightRobot still needs confirmed UK availability, final compatibility, staircase requirements, price and independent testing. “Coming soon” is not the same as a confirmed UK on-sale date.
