RightRobot brand guide · UK

Which Shark robot vacuum should you buy?

Shark's 2026 range is much better than its older robot reputation suggests — but the model names and sale prices make the range harder to understand than it should be. RightRobot separates the genuinely different platforms, current UK buying routes and independent evidence.

RightRobot takeUV Reveal is the best Shark robot overall. ThermaCharged can be the better purchase when the price gap is large.

The current shortlist

Five Shark families worth understanding

RightRobot treats colour, base and bundle SKUs as purchase options unless the hardware difference is material. That avoids turning Shark's many AV/RV codes into fake separate robots.

Current budget-range watch

Shark Navigator is buyable — but RightRobot is not ranking it yet

Shark's RV2110AEUK is a current UK vacuum-only robot with LiDAR/row-by-row navigation, obstacle detection, a self-cleaning brush-roll and a bagless 60-day auto-empty base. The official Shark page showed £210 on 30 August.

Why the hold? RightRobot does not yet have enough exact-model independent testing to give it the same recommendation confidence as the core Shark products above. Current availability is not the same thing as proven Home Fit.

What independent testing changes

The evidence is stronger than a specification comparison

Manufacturer features explain what a robot is designed to do. RightRobot gives more weight to what independent testing shows it actually does — including the catches.

Vacuum Wars

UV Reveal independent lab-style test

Vacuum Wars purchased and tested the UV Reveal. It reported 88% carpet deep-clean performance, 20/24 obstacle avoidance, major battery gains and excellent dried-stain removal — but unusually high water use, 29% hair wrap and a 25 mm threshold failure.

WIRED

UV Reveal long-form home review

WIRED rated UV Reveal 8/10, praising its vacuuming, mopping, stain detection, speed, corner cleaning and bagless dock while flagging single-floor mapping and some remaining pet-hair pickup.

Tom's Guide

ThermaCharged hands-on review

Tom's Guide found excellent everyday vacuuming, strong mopping, quick mapping and a useful NeverTouch dock, with occasional navigation problems and premium pricing as the main reservations.

TechRadar

Matrix Plus month-long review

TechRadar found Matrix Plus excellent value with good pet-hair pickup, mapping and obstacle avoidance. Its main limitations were lighter-duty mopping and a less polished app.

Exact-model video evidence

Vacuum Wars: Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal

The current flagship has enough independent evidence that RightRobot does not need to rely on Shark's marketing claims. This review is an exact-model independent purchase/test and includes obstacle, carpet, pet, threshold, battery and mopping measurements.

Dirt / Floor / Edge Detect

Useful automation, not magic

These features alter cleaning behaviour when the robot detects dirt, floor transitions or edges. They are helpful, but RightRobot still scores the resulting cleaning/navigation evidence separately.

NeverStuck

Better obstacle traversal, not stair climbing

Shark's lift/lower chassis helps with rugs and normal obstacles. It does not turn the robot into a staircase-climbing machine.

NeverTouch / ThermaCharged

Dock convenience matters

Self-emptying plus automated mop handling can reduce daily maintenance. Hot washing/drying is useful ownership technology, but it does not by itself prove better floor cleaning.

UV Reveal

A real differentiator with a trade-off

The UV system can trigger extra stain passes and independent dried-stain testing was strong. The same independent test also found exceptionally high water use, so RightRobot shows both sides.

Why this page can still say “not Shark”

Brand coverage is not brand preference

RightRobot can use approved Shark product data, imagery and affiliate links to improve this page without giving Shark ranking points. If another robot fits a home better, Home Fit should still recommend the other robot.

Quick answers

Shark robot-vacuum FAQ

Which Shark robot vacuum is best?

RightRobot currently puts PowerDetect UV Reveal first within the Shark range because independent testing shows meaningful gains in obstacle avoidance, navigation, battery efficiency, carpet cleaning and stain removal. ThermaCharged can still be the better value when heavily discounted.

Is Shark good for pet hair?

Several Shark robots perform well with pet hair, and UV Reveal scored strongly in Vacuum Wars' pet category. Hair-wrap resistance is not perfect, though: the same UV Reveal test measured 29% hair wrap.

Does UV Reveal avoid pet accidents?

Shark markets UV Stain Detect for hidden pet accidents, but that is not the same as a strict independent pet-waste avoidance pass. RightRobot keeps stain detection, general obstacle avoidance and wet pet-mess safety as separate questions.

Should I buy UV Reveal or ThermaCharged?

UV Reveal is the stronger robot. ThermaCharged can be the smarter purchase if it is substantially cheaper and you do not need UV stain detection. Use the live comparison page because UK sale pricing changes quickly.
