CES 2026 · RightRobot technology watchCES 2026 robot vacuums: the technologies that actually matter
CES 2026 made one trend unusually clear: the interesting robot-vacuum race is no longer just about suction. Manufacturers are attacking physical access, clutter, wet-floor cleaning, battery downtime and whole-home autonomy in very different ways.
Why this is interesting
- Roborock and Dreame both showed serious attempts at multi-storey mobility, but with completely different mechanical architectures.
- Robotic arms are moving toward object handling and tool use, potentially reducing the pre-cleaning humans still do.
- ECOVACS highlighted continuous roller washing, rapid GaN charging and agent-style software, while other brands pushed adaptive chassis and specialised mop systems.
What the manufacturer has actually confirmed
- Roborock showed Saros Rover alongside high-threshold Saros 20 models, signalling that mobility is becoming a major competitive axis.
- Dreame showcased Cyber X and Cyber10 Ultra alongside the X60 series, combining stair transport, robotic arms and more advanced 3D perception.
- ECOVACS presented a coming-soon OZMO ROLLER model with instant self-washing, TruePass climbing, PowerBoost rapid charging and AGENT YIKO.
What we still don't know
CES pages combine shipping products, near-term launches and development concepts. RightRobot labels them separately and does not infer a UK release date or purchase status unless the manufacturer confirms one.
