What is coming next in home humanoids?
Home humanoids will improve in stages rather than all at once. The important question is what needs to happen before impressive demonstrations turn into products ordinary households can actually use.
The milestones that will really move this market forward
The market changes materially when more companies move from concept or pilot to a normal consumer purchase flow.
The next leap is not just better video; it is clearer proof of what works autonomously, how often and in what kind of home.
Lower prices matter only when reliability improves and the robot can take over genuinely useful chores without constant supervision.
For home robots, the companies that explain support, remote access and household safety best may gain a real edge.
A useful new signal: generalisation across unfamiliar homes
Figure's Helix 2.5 report moves beyond a single polished room: the company evaluated tidying, towel folding and bed making across 30 unseen homes and reported 56% complete-task success. That is meaningful manufacturer evidence for transfer to unfamiliar layouts, but it is not independent testing, it covers three bounded behaviours and it is still far from dependable general housekeeping.
What is likely to happen next
Progress will be uneven. Some companies will make their robots easier to order first, while others will keep improving object handling, autonomy and general-purpose AI before selling to ordinary consumers. What matters for buyers is knowing when a robot has moved beyond an impressive demonstration and become a product that could genuinely help at home.
Want a robot that can help at home now?
Humanoids are the exciting next chapter. Robot vacuums are already mature enough to remove a repetitive household job reliably — and Home Fit can match one to your floors, pets, clutter, thresholds and budget.

RightRobot separates what manufacturers say and show from our own assessment. We only call a robot independently tested when we have actually tested it. Prices, availability, videos and claimed capabilities can change quickly.
